Apply for MTV’s Staying Alive Awards / Grants for HIV Related Projects.
The SAF supports young people (15-27 years old) and youth-led organisations that work in the field of HIV prevention. If you apply as an organisation, the project that you seek to get funds for should be managed by a young person who is not older than 27 years old. They support projects anywhere in the world. The maximum you can apply for is a grant of US$12,000.

The Deadline for December 2008 proposals is the 15th September 2008, and all successful applicants will be announced on World AIDS Day (1st December 2008). The grants are for projects that will start in 2009. You can reapply for grants every year.
They put out request for proposals 2 times every year. The first one in February for Awards given out in June and the second one in July for Awards given out on 1st December. If you’re thinking of applying for funding from the Staying Alive Foundation, please follow these instructions. Please note that we cannot consider proposals that do not follow these guidelines.
1.Read our Funding Criteria, Frequently Asked Questions and these Guidelines.
2.Consider whether your proposal might be eligible for funding and whether your project is suitable.
3.Complete and submit your application to the Staying Alive Foundation via e-mail, fax or post (see details at the end of this document).
4.You will receive an acknowledgement letter confirming that we have received your application and you may also be asked to provide us with additional information.
5.You will be notified in writing by 30th of November informing you of whether or not your application has been successful.
Please note that the Staying Alive Foundation receives a large number of applications and is only able to award a limited number of grants. Therefore, under no circumstances should you undertake any expense or make promises to beneficiaries or partners prior to written confirmation that your application has been successful. Our standard acknowledgement letter confirming receipt of your proposal does not constitute an indication that your proposal has been - or will be - successful.
